The
menu features mainly regional dishes inspired by grandmothers’
kitchen: the traditional Limburg meat stew with vinegar called ‘zuurvlees’,
game, black pudding and sauerkraut. But if you prefer a fine fillet
steak, a pasta dish or a Salade Niçoise, these are served
here as well. As Maastricht’s very first pub serving meals,
Café Sjiek (pronounce as: chic) has been around since 1982.
The small restaurant has a cosy atmosphere and in summer, the large
terrace affords a lovely view of the adjacent historic city park.
A selection of different wines is served by the glass, some of them
imported specially. The extensive wine list comprises all sorts
of wines, from exciting new wines to bottles from renowned vineyards,
at reasonable prices.
Café Sjiek is open every day of the week from 17:00 –
02:00 (the kitchen is usually open until 23:00).
